Life is Short

Today has been a rough day for me. I really close student told me that she has a nonoperable brain tumor. She doesn't know how much longer she has to live, but she is living it to the fullest. She is 17 years old. Way too young!! She has asked that we don't tell too many people because she doesn't want her friends treating her differently. She was told by her doctor not to go to school, but to stay at home. She told her doctor no. She said she wants to graduate with her friends, and that was what she was going to do. She also was told to quit playing softball. Again, she told the doctor no. She would much rather go out playing what she loves than sitting at home waiting to die. Talk about grabbing life by the horns. It made me realize I have a lot to learn about life. I pray that they find a cure for cancer soon because this is a horrible way to go!

Oh Erin, what an awful situation for both you and the student. {{{HUGS}}} I know it seems like there is no reason for things like this, and it sucks. But God loves her and will never leave her side. I will be praying for her as well, that she can have the time to play ball and graduate. And mostly for a miracle, because I believe in miracles.
